Opera Software, the company that developed Opera Mini, Africa’s most popular mobile browser, has today launched the new Opera Max, a data compression tool that has seen huge popularity amongst Nigerians.
Opera Max compresses all data sent through Android smartphones with world leading image and video compression technology, so users can get the most from their data plans.
The new Opera Max compression features better Wi-Fi management for users experiencing Wi-Fi network congestion as well as ability to see how apps are using their data and track how their apps behave on Wi-Fi.
Perhaps the coolest feature is the new App Blocking feature that allows users to prevent apps from tracking them or using data without their permission, as well as being able to stop apps from running in the background to conserve precious battery life.
Originally launched in Africa with Samsung, the app is today launching in 135 countries around the world, and is available for download for free to all Android users via Google Play.
