Obafemi Awolowo University set to host Social Media Conference

Social media Conference is an event propelled by a vision to establish proper Social Media Schools/Institutions in Nigeria, so as to encourage more efficient and creative usage of social media platforms. The conference—being a foundation of a larger vision—would enlighten and teach about the rudiments of using new media effectively as a tool for personal development and societal development concurrently.


Its maiden edition tagged “Media is you” is focused on the youths. We have come to recognize that the OAU community is lagging behind in the media space as a larger percentage are still about the traditional way of doing media, and we want to encourage the youths to come on social platforms and those that are making use of it already to do so effectively.

A lineup of incredible speakers who have used (and still use) this media effectively in their respective fields would be educating attendees intensively on the effective and creative use of new media. They are:

Fola Folayan

Fola Folayan – On Air Personality with 99.3 NIGERIA INFO LAGOS. She is the founder of the popular #Dearartiste

Tobi Adebowale

Tobi Adebowale is Political blogger, Journalist, Social commentator and founder of  lawyard.ng.

Blossom Ozurubma

Blossom Ozurumba is a writer, compère and public servant.  Her passion for social good inspired her to ideate the #AdoptATweep Events that provided opportunities for people to connect to social media and use the platform for commercial and social good.

Lolade Adewuyi is a  Journalist, Photographer, blogger and Chief Editor Goal.com (Nigeria).
