Apple Could Benefit From Sluggish Smartphone Sales

Is the smartphone market in trouble? According to Wired, Apple may get a chance to boost its customer base at the cost of the Android market. Wired reported that market research firm IDC has predicted lower than usual smartphone sales for 2015.

IDC’s research showed that total smartphone shipments in 2015 will amount to a 9.8 percent increase compared to last year, or 1.43 billion units. The research also showed a slowing demand for smartphones in Asia and Europe.

Those countries are heavy users of Apple’s iPhone series, but growth among iOS powered phones is also expected to remain sluggish since most households across the globe, especially Asia have a smartphone. There’s fewer new users to attract to the market.

Apple has been raising its appeal to attract Android phone users to its products. Alongside a suite of new and upgraded products including the highly anticipated iPhone 6s and the larger screen version iPhone 6s Plus, many analysts and technology predictions came true including the forch touch, named 3D Touch officially by Apple.

The 3D Touch feature is responsible for enhancing apps, the technology, and appeal of the iPhone 6S. The new phone has been one of Apple’s top sellers, luring Android users to the device to use the upgraded technology.
