Google is prepping to release a new data saver feature on Chrome for Android to users on slow connections

Google in a bid to better the load time of mobile web pages, has been opening up few of its attempts at solving that to early testers. An example is Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), a Facebook Instant Articles-esque tool for the mobile web set for release soon. The search company is again prepping to roll out a new feature in the Chrome’s Data Saver mode that can save data for Android users on slow internet connections.

According to Google, the feature saves up to 70 percent mobile data — enables the browser to intelligently render only text when it perceives a user’s on a slow connection (i.e faster load time), and allows you choose to show full page content when the page loads by tapping on the ‘load images’ button or specifically tapping on each image. The feature which will be best advantageous to Android users in regions with less active internet speeds will initially be released in India and Indonesia with other nations to follow.
