    Gameloft opens office in Nigeria

Gameloft, an international publisher and developer of digitally-distributed video games has opened an office in Nigeria, according to a report from Game Industry.

The launch of the office will allow Gameloft take advantage of the considerable potential of Africa – revenues has increased to about 536 per cent over the last four years – which already includes more than 367 million users, the report stated.

“The success that we’ve experienced since the opening of our Johannesburg office, and surging sales in Africa over the last two years, completely justify the opening of a subsidiary in Nigeria, which is Africa’s strongest economy,” says Vincent Brezillon, Gameloft sales director for Africa.

He added, “In addition, this presence will facilitate interactions with our current and future local partners.”

Gameloft has had a presence in Johannesburg since 2012 and already partners with a number of the continent’s mobile operators like MTN, Orange, Vodafone, Safaricom, Ooredoo, and Etisalat.

To expand its reach across Africa, Paris-based Gameloft plans to add to these partnerships in the nearest future.

Some popular games in Gameloft’s stable includes Dungeon Hunter 5, Asphalt 8: Airborne, Dragon Mania Legends, March of Empires, Modern Combat 5: Blackout, and World at Arms.

As of July 2015, Gameloft has released 69 games for Apple devices.
