    Safaricom Partners Vuclip To Launch Online Premium Video Content Platform



    Safaricom, the biggest telecommunication company in East and Central Africa, has announced a partnership with mobile video-on-demand service for emerging markets, Vuclip to offer customers premium video content on their mobile phones.


    The partnership births a premium video content store which provides subscribed customers access to about 100 videos a day for only KSh10.

    “Strategic partnerships such as this one we have entered with Vuclip pave the way for us to exploit current and future technological trends to deliver differentiated services that are consistent with market needs,” Safaricom CEO, Robert Collymore said in a press release.

    Safaricom’s over 21 million subscribers will have access to popular contents such as gospel music videos, comedy, TV shows, local and Hollywood movies on the video store.

    The service can be accessed by visiting videos.safaricom.com or by dialing *822# from an Internet-enabled phone on the Safaricom network.

    Safaricom, formed in 1997 and headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, provides voice, data, financial services and enterprise solution for a range of subscribers using a variety of platforms.
