“The Godfather of Hiplife” Reggie Rockstone invests in photo sharing app Suba

Ghanaian rapper and “The Godfather of Hiplife”, Reggie Rockstone has led a funding round in Suba, a photo sharing app out of Ghana.

Suba is an event-based web and mobile app that allows everyone at social gatherings to see and share photos together in one central photo stream.

“With Reggie’s influence in the entertainment industry here in Ghana and also Africa, we are poised to gain a lot of traction both locally and internationally” said Nelson Klutse, Suba’s co-founder.

Although the amount invested is unknown, it will be used to build the Suba team, make improvements to the app and for activities aimed at growing the app such as marketing, and apart from the investment, Reggie Rockstone will use his various social media following, extensive fan base and connections in the entertainment industry as a platform to further generate exposure for the app.

Suba, which is available on Android and iOS devices, was co-founded by Nelson Klutse and Eric Hackman, and is housed in Accra-based MEST incubator.

Since its launch, the app has gained considerable traction — it has been used to collect and share photos at renowned events in major cities across the world.
