MultiChoice, a pay-media company, has partnered LaunchLab, a business incubator housed at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, to launch the MultiChoice Media Challenge.
The Challenge, designed to unleash innovation in the video entertainment value chain (production, processing, distribution, consumption), seeks ideas with business potential that will move towards the next breakthrough innovation in media.
As part of the ideas Programme, LaunchLab will host a workshop to engage with the media, tech and innovation community, and a media specific Pitching Platform on behalf of MultiChoice.
The workshop will take place on March 3, 2016 from 15:00-17:00 at the AFDA Campus, Observatory, Cape Town.
Ideas that analyse data regarding behaviours and preferences of video consumers; trends centred on content consumption; new and innovative content; and new ways to produce content and provide entertainment, will be considered for the Challenge.
The winners of the Challenge will win a share of R100,000 in seed funding as well as incubation support at the Nedbank Stellenbosch University LaunchLab which includes workspace, Internet, portfolio manager and mentorship.
CEO of LaunchLab, Philip Marais said, “We have been running the Pitching Platform for more than three years, and many good ideas have been pitched in the Paid Media vertical. However, this year participants in the Paid Media vertical will have an opportunity to showcase their business ideas to MultiChoice.”
Entries for the Challenge opens on April 6, 2016. Visit the website to find out more information on the Challenge.
